Crypto and Crypto+ Filters
Cryptosporidium , a parasite generally 1-5 micron in size and is typically found in water supplies, is known to cause respiratory and gastroenteritis based illnesses. Using the Crypto CP+ at 0.45 or the CP at 1 micron, Cryptosporidium and other microorganisms can be effectively removed to protect against infection or contamination.

SPECTRUM TruDepth High Efficiency Spun Filter

The new SSP97 from SPECTRUM, delivers exceptional 97% efficiency with a low clear pressure drop at an affordable price. Finer fibres used in the construction create a more accurate level of filtration, whilst maintaining a high dirt holding capacity.

The SSP97 with its melt-bonded exterior minimises any fibre migration, whilst its single, one piece, graded density and thermally bonded fibre construction made from 100% polypropylene introduces no binders, lubricants, or other additives in its manufacture.

TruDepth High Efficiency spun cartridges from SPECTRUM are one of 4 cartridges available in the TruDepth range, alongside the Economic, Standard and Premier cartridges. Each a different grade to match the wide variety of liquid applications where a broad range of particles are to be removed.

Boasting WRAS approval over the ESP, the TruDepth Standard is the best value option for general particulate reduction. Delivering high efficiency filtration, the mono layer media of the Value Ployester Pleat delivers economical filtration with high surface area and high flow potential, whilst maintaining a low pressure drop. Vinyl plastisol end-caps eliminate the need for gaskets and maintain the integrity of the pleat pack, further supported by the tough inner polypropylene core. Resilient polyester media, used in a variety of applications from borehole and river water to harsher chemicals. For applications with a higher operating temperature or where polypropylene is incompatible with the feed solution, the DWCO cartridge provides graded particulate reduction and is supplied as standard with a stainless steel core for added strength. Due to the natural absorption properties of the cotton media, the DWCO exhibits the ability to remove and retain dispersed oil making it suitable for use in degreasing applications.

The Primary Carbon for Electroplaters

A specialised cartridge for electroplating applications, the C-155 represents the best possible technology available for the marketplace. The bonded PAC used in the Fibredyne C-155 excels in removing organics and particulate and ensures sulphur is not leached into the plating bath, along with a post filtration layer preventing carbon fines after initial flushing. The C-155 prevents pitted deposits, haze, clouds and discolouration to provide a bright electroplating finish. Building on the same technology as the discontinued ELPC cartridge, the C-155 has a reduced diameter allowing simple retrofitting to a much wider range of standard housings within the finishing industry.

The C-155 carbon cartridges made with Fibredyne™ technology are far more advanced than traditional carbon block cartridges. Benefits of higher flow rates, lower pressure drops, higher treatment capacity and less susceptibility to premature blocking from sediment make them the leading carbon cartridges on the market.

The fibres (coated in powdered activated carbon) have a very large surface area to offer increased capacity, more flow paths to allow for increased flow and reduced pressure drop and also create areas where sediment can be trapped.

The construction methods used to manufacture Fibredyne™ cartridges allow for a variety of constituents to be incorporated that solve specific application problems. Manufacturing and development processes that produce no fines or Sulphur release, is a particular benefit in electroplating applications. Fibredyne™ technology also enables the use of moulded Santoprene gaskets, meaning no glues are used and the risk of end-caps being left in the housing during cartridge change is vastly reduced.

EP Series carbon briquette cartridges are manufactured using a patented process that yields a cartridge with a nominal 5-micron filtration rating, high dirt-holding tolerance. Spectrum Premier Pleat Depth Polypropylene Particle Retention Efficiency
The PPDP range is a product development on the popular SPECTRUM Premier Pleat. Designed to combine the science of depth filtration within a pleat format, this increase in layered media and cartridge construction allows for a higher dirt holding capacity over standard pleated cartridges. The PPDP is ideal for applications targeting a wider range of particulate size and those of a softer, more gelatinous form.

Many applications benefit from using the high efficiency, large surface area, low pressure drop and inert properties of the WRAS approved Premier Pleat Polypropylene cartridge. Four pleated media layers combine to construct a pleat pack with depth characteristics and the main filtration media layer delivers high efficiency and exacting micron classification. An improved cage construction for 2018 delivers excellent flow dynamics and is designed to protect the integral pleat pack whilst providing overall rigidity and strength to the cartridge.

SPECTRUM TruDepth Antimicrobial Spun Filter

Inhibiting the growth of trapped bacteria and microbes within the filter, the specialist antimicrobial spun depth cartridge prevents premature blocking from biofilm, the occurrence of unpleasant smells and the potential of unsightly water stains by utilising silver ions with antimicrobial properties.

Primarily used in private water supplies such as boreholes and well water, the AMS is also an excellent safe guard for more critical pre-filtration applications such a pre-UV treatment.

Trudepth cartridges from SPECTRUM are available in 3 different grades to match the wide variety of liquid applications where a broad range of particles are to be removed.

Each grade is manufactured from only FDA compliant polypropylene with no binders, resins or glues ensuring no leeching into the liquid stream. All cartridges in the TruDepth range use melt-blown technology to form their 3D micropore matrices with different fine fibres used to create a strong structure with coarser filtration on the surface and finer filtration on the inner. This gradual reduction in size allows the cartridges to be used where a wide band of pollutant sizes exist. Contaminants such as particles, dirt, debris and rust are removed by the TruDepth range to provide efficient filtration and excellent service life.

The variants in construction are reflected in each of the range’s performance. The finer fibres and deep grooves used in the Premier range for instance offer benefits in maximising the filtration surface area which increases the flow rate and lowers the pressure drop across the cartridge as well as maximising the dirt-holding capability and extending the service life. The Premier range also benefits from offering the end-cap options and WRAS approval.

Due to the natural absorption properties of the cotton media, the SWC exhibits the ability to remove and retain dispersed oil making it suitable for use in degreasing applications.

The primary choice across the whole range of cartridges for effective filtration in very high temperature applications, the glass fibre media with a stainless steel core suits applications up to 400 DegC. Media migration is significantly reduced by the internal voile layer which controls fibre release downstream from the cartridge. The SWF has excellent compatibility when filtering strong oxidising agents, as well as acids and is often used to filter oils when heated to reduce viscosity.

The most popular wound cartridge media by far, the SPECTRUM wound polypropylene offers broad chemical compatibility and good temperature resistance at low cost. With over 50 years proven experience and in a variety of micron sizes, across standard and large diameters, the SWP provides a basic filtration solution perfectly suited for first-stage and general particulate reduction. Whilst newer spun technologies offer higher efficiency and longer life cartridges, wounds still exceed filtration standards in many applications.
