Having been manufactured within a five-stage process, this exceptional catalytic activated carbon cartridge offers up to 10 times the capacity of the Plus grade. Essential for use in public water supplies where chloramine has been added as the disinfecting agent of choice, the Max grade carbon block will typically be found within applications including aquatics and renal dialysis. Rated at one micron, pre-filtration from the PRISM spun range, such as the Plus grade DSPP at five micron, is recommended to maximise service life and prevent premature blocking.

Suited to the industrial sector, the lower capacity Core grade carbon block suits batch process, where a longer service life is not required. Manufactured using acid washed bituminous carbon, a highly microporous structure targets larger organic molecules such as benzene. This ensures the removal of ash and reduces rinse-up fines often found with non-acid washed bituminous carbon. Available in 3 micron sizes, the Core grade carbon block offers flexibility to suit different applications where sediment could plug the carbon before service life is achieved.

Nitrate often reaches surface and groundwater by runoff from agricultural activities, such as usage in fertiliser. SRNI cartridges can reduce toxic nitrate levels below WHO limits of 50mg/L, exchanging harmful nitrates for chloride ions.

EP Series carbon briquette cartridges are manufactured using a patented process that yields a cartridge with a nominal 5-micron filtration rating, high dirt-holding tolerance. A high porosity design helps prevent the cartridge from plugging before its adsorption capacity is exhausted, maximizing the utilization of the carbon while maintaining low pressure drop.

These cartridges are protected by Endurawrap®, a uniquely formulated polyolefin bilaminate pre-filter, designed to significantly increase the useful life of the cartridge by trapping sediment that typically plugs carbon block cartridges.

Pentair Pentek ChlorPlus carbon block cartridges help reduce sediment while providing greater chloramine performance capacities than granular carbon. They also significantly reduce the carbon fines found in many granular canisters.

Pentek RFFE20-BB Iron Reducing Filter

The RFFE in their new 10" and existing 20" large diameter options have been designed to provide an easy and effective method of reducing iron in water, greatly improving the taste. These cartridges help to eliminate the orange and brown stains often found in sinks, toilets, baths and other plumbing fixtures, as well as reducing the possibility of damage to pipes and water heaters and is effective where feed concentrations are up to 3 ppm dissolved iron.

Completely suited to drinking water applications, the RFFE10-BB and RFFE20-BB cartridges should be installed on the main cold water line after the pressure tank or water meter. For best results, pre-sediment and post carbon treatment is recommended. As water flows through the cartridge the RFFE causes the iron to oxidize and drop out of the flow, holding it within its matrix to ensure no harmful chemicals are added to the water.

Pentair Pentek S1 Series Cartridges are manufactured from a pleated cellulose media and are designed for general water filtration purposes. Pentek ECP 20  10" BB (Big Blue) High Flow Sediment Filter

Carbon in a format of granular activated carbon (GAC) has the most flexible properties. For water treatment, GAC combines well with other media such as phosphate, resins and sediment traps for specific contaminant targeting.

Using a clean, acid-washed bituminous carbon with a large mesh size, this granular range is primarily a chlorine, taste and odour reduction cartridge with the advantage of a coarse 20 micron pre and post-filter pad to retain carbon fines that is not susceptibleto blockage if high particulate is present.

Widely used and favoured for drinking water treatment and beverage production where chloramines are not present; the Plus grade carbon block is formulated from low ash content, microporous coconut carbon that targets VOCs and THMs. Acid wash during the production process and low fine content give excellent rinse-up times as well as regulating pH and taste. The Plus grade carbon block also gives improved flowrate and lower pressure drop than the Max grade, reducing the size of the housing required, making it a firm favourite for drinking water, pre-RO and applications where end product consumption is a consideration.

Inhibiting the growth of trapped bacteria and microbes within the filter, the specialist antimicrobial spun depth cartridge prevents premature blocking from biofilm, the occurrence of unpleasant smells and the potential of unsightly water stains by utilising silver ions with antimicrobial properties.
