Spectrum Premier Pleat Depth Polypropylene Particle Retention Efficiency

The PPDP range is a product development on the popular SPECTRUM Premier Pleat. Designed to combine the science of depth filtration within a pleat format, this increase in layered media and cartridge construction allows for a higher dirt holding capacity over standard pleated cartridges. The PPDP is ideal for applications targeting a wider range of particulate size and those of a softer, more gelatinous form.

Many applications benefit from using the high efficiency, large surface area, low pressure drop and inert properties of the WRAS approved Premier Pleat Polypropylene cartridge. Four pleated media layers combine to construct a pleat pack with depth characteristics and the main filtration media layer delivers high efficiency and exacting micron classification. An improved cage construction for 2018 delivers excellent flow dynamics and is designed to protect the integral pleat pack whilst providing overall rigidity and strength to the cartridge.

The most popular wound cartridge media by far, the SPECTRUM wound polypropylene offers broad chemical compatibility and good temperature resistance at low cost. With over 50 years proven experience and in a variety of micron sizes, across standard and large diameters, the SWP provides a basic filtration solution perfectly suited for first-stage and general particulate reduction. Whilst newer spun technologies offer higher efficiency and longer life cartridges, wounds still exceed filtration standards in many applications.

Offered in both granular carbon and block options are the range of Chloramine reduction cartridges from Pentair.

Granular Carbon:

Targeting chloramines for over 250,000 litres, the CRFC-20BB radial flow design offers the benefits of granular activated carbon, whilst at the same time significantly reducing the release of carbon fines commonly associated with other granular carbon designs.

Carbon Block:

The ChlorPlus in its block configuration, reduces chloramine levels to below the guideline 0.1 ppm from a 1 ppm feed for over 26,000 litres in its standard 10" configuration. As a pre-filter in renal applications, these cartridges are the perfect choice for extending membrane life, primarily due to the absence of carbon fines, which are a common by-product of granular carbons.

Additional information

CRFC:

  • Radial flow construction allows for greater contact time and low pressure drops
  • Manufactured with 70 micron polypropylene outer shell and inner core for controlling release of carbon fines

ChlorPlus:

  • Superior chloramine and chlorine reduction capabilities
  • NSF/ANSI Standard 42 certified

Replacement Cartridge Set for EWS-10K - 8 L/M

EWS units incorporate Crystalite, an advanced Template Assisted Crystallisation (TAC) media. Crystalite media provides the first effective chemical-free scale prevention method. It converts hardness causing minerals, through a catalytic reaction, into non scaling crystals (known as soft scale), which are formed on the resin surface and then released in to water. It is highly efficient, saves money and water as no regeneration is required. Supplied with Copper Guard to protect the media from heavy metals, such as copper and iron.

Ion-X from SPECTRUM is an effective range of contaminant removal cartridges.

The SRSO effectively reduces calcium and magnesium hardness levels in feed water, preventing scaling that causes premature failure and increased energy costs in equipment, such as small commercial boilers and steam ovens. Large capacity cartridges can be utilised to lower total hardness levels in closed loop systems to acceptable levels

Dosing – Slowly dissolves into the filtrate to continually feed the required treatment

These smart SPECTRUM systems have been conveniently pre-assembled for easy and quick installation. Costing less than the sum of their individual components combined, the Aqualyze systems are anything but economic and are available in 10" and 20" Regular and Large Diameter sizes, with the unique option to select sump colour configurations. Coming complete with inlet and outlet gauges to monitor and maximise cartridge life, a spanner to assist with sump removal when performing maintenance and cartridge replacement and connectors to configure the 1/4"-1" port sizes with the most common pipework, the extensive combinations in this range provide endless options for applications and flow rates. Filtration systems are tailored to suit individual applications dependant on the level of filtration required. Single housings provide an effective one stage process, used to target specific contaminants for example, bulk solids, sediment or organics. Two-stage systems are implemented when an expensive secondary filter, such as a fine filtration or water treatment cartridge, benefits from prefiltration, prolonging service life. If applications demand a full filtration cascade, a three-stage system is recommended, which delivers a spatial and economic solution.

Bubble Point 10"

The validated, integrity tested range of industry specialised beverage grade filters uses the latest technology to create a highly asymmetric, permanently hydrophilic membrane. Capable of higher throughput and with greater membrane depth capability, the new Bubble Point range extends membrane life in high loading applications. Suitable for use in many critical applications from biological filtration, through to the validated removal of spoilage microorganisms for beer, cider, wine and fruit juice classification.

The Bubble Point range uses a highly asymmetric media manufactured from the PPPES series. This modified media, with an initial increased pore diameter, significantly improves performance and durability, so it's critical for high load contaminant removal found in beverage applications.

The increased dirt holding properties of the enhanced PES pore structure, with a greater void volume, protects the validated retention layer from premature fouling as typically occurs in standard PES media. This ensures high flow rates are maintained over an extended service life.

Low protein binding characteristics coupled with the modified PES pore structure result in a cartridge that provides consistent classification without altering the final product quality, retaining desired proteins,

  • 100% integrity tested, with specific Quality Assurance Certificate supplied with every cartridge
  • Manufactured in a clean room environment, lot coded on the polypropylene cage for tracking and tracing
  • Each cartridge has double layered packaging. The inner plastic wrap is vacuum sealed and a tough outer layer provides further protection and cleanliness
  • Individually labelled and boxed for security and ease of product identification

The SPECTRUM range of filter sleeves and housings provide a truly economical method of surface filtration.

The most reusable cartridges in the SPECTRUM portfolio, nylon mesh filter sleeves offer an economic solution for reducing coarse particulate between 60 & 350 micron. With a comparatively small surface area, the nylon sleeves are manufactured from washable media for reuse time and again. The alternative single-use polyethylene sleeve suits applications that require a finer level of filtration. Designed to work with 10" regular diameter housings, both sleeves are used with a support core. Nylon Filter references: 60 micron (white), 100 micron (blue), 150 micron (brown), 200 micron (green) and 350 micron (grey)

Available in standard 10″ as well as miniature sizes, the nylon mesh sleeves inare colour-coded for easy identification and are ideal for coarser applications having the added benefit of being washable for re-use time and again.

The porous polyethylene (PP) sleeve is an ideal alternative for finer filtration, available in 5µm and 25µm in size 1 and 25µm in size 10 (Code SFS-Y-10-µm). The PP benefits from intricate matrices of open-celled, multi-directional pores to create millions of tortuous paths within its structure. Trapping larger particles on the surface and also smaller particles throughout creates a highly effective filter sleeve with the characteristics of a depth filter.

The primary choice across the whole range of cartridges for effective filtration in very high temperature applications, the glass fibre media with a stainless steel core suits applications up to 400 DegC. Media migration is significantly reduced by the internal voile layer which controls fibre release downstream from the cartridge. The SWF has excellent compatibility when filtering strong oxidising agents, as well as acids and is often used to filter oils when heated to reduce viscosity.
