EP Series carbon briquette cartridges are manufactured using a patented process that yields a cartridge with a nominal 5-micron filtration rating, high dirt-holding tolerance. A high porosity design helps prevent the cartridge from plugging before its adsorption capacity is exhausted, maximizing the utilization of the carbon while maintaining low pressure drop.

These cartridges are protected by Endurawrap®, a uniquely formulated polyolefin bilaminate pre-filter, designed to significantly increase the useful life of the cartridge by trapping sediment that typically plugs carbon block cartridges.

Widely used and favoured for drinking water treatment and beverage production where chloramines are not present; the Plus grade carbon block is formulated from low ash content, microporous coconut carbon that targets VOCs and THMs. Acid wash during the production process and low fine content give excellent rinse-up times as well as regulating pH and taste. The Plus grade carbon block also gives improved flowrate and lower pressure drop than the Max grade, reducing the size of the housing required, making it a firm favourite for drinking water, pre-RO and applications where end product consumption is a consideration.

Re-innovation of a modern media allows a greater void volume to improve dirt holding capacity and flow rates, while new technology allows greater carbon attachment to fibres, creating the ultimate high-flow carbon cartridges. This media has allowed for speciality solutions, starting with the SPECTRUM EFBC - a cartridge focused on providing an economic, practical solution to chlorine, taste, and odour (CTO) removal. This build provides all the benefits of activated carbon with a minimum pressure drop commonly associated with a carbon block, promoting extended CTO reduction. An antimicrobial agent is applied to allow the full chlorine capacity to be used over long time spans, giving the economic name its true meaning.
